Board Member Bio

Neil St. John, Executive Director

Neil St. John is the Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Ethics & Corporate Policy. He is a highly experienced Corporate Secretary & General Counsel, with significant public company, professional firm, national regulator, and not – for – profit experience.

A member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Neil served from 1977 to 1987 as the Corporate Secretary & Associate General Counsel of Interprovincial Pipe Line Limited. He then served from 1988 to 2009 as the Corporate Secretary & General Counsel of Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP and its predecessor Coopers & Lybrand. From 2009 to 2011, he was the Director of Government Relations for the Canadian Public Accountability Board (“CPAB”) and from 2011 to 2014 until his retirement he served as CPAB’s Corporate Secretary & General Counsel.

Neil served as both Price Waterhouse Cooper’s and CPAB’s Chief Ethics Officer and Chief Privacy Officer and is expert in corporate governance. He has spoken at national meetings of the Corporate Counsel Association of Canada and the Canadian Bar Association. As well, he has served on several not – for-profit boards, including serving as Vice – Chair of the Board of Directors of Christian Children’s Fund of Canada.
