Naveen Mehta

Principal, CulturWorks Growth Strategies

As General Counsel, Naveen is responsible for directing the legal affairs of UFCW Canada and providing strategic legal advice for all of the organization's diverse and often complex legal issues and litigation, including matters before Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

As the Director of the Human Rights, Equity, and Diversity Department, Naveen has led a team that has established and executed a complex multi-year, multifaceted diversity and inclusion strategy for the over 250,000 members of UFCW Canada - one of the largest and most robust diversity and Inclusion initiatives in Canada.

With almost two decades as an award-winning global Diversity and Inclusion speaker and principal strategist at CulturWorks | Growth Strategies, Naveen has had the honour of providing pramatic advice to innovative leaders and organizations and delivering illuminating, yet entertaining, keynote speeches, and effective workshops and training across the globe on Diversity, Inclusion, and the Law. He is an active and passionate member or Board Member of several organizations including the International Commission of Jurists, Legal Leaders for Diversity and Inclusion, as the North American Regional Expert on Diversity and Inclusion for the ILO, a monitor for Lawyers' Rights Watch, and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the International Bar Association, the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.

Naveen is regularly invited as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter to a wide variety of organizations including leading law firms, law schools, universities, government, cabinet ministers, policy makers, legal organizations, unions, community organizations, and the media. He enjoys contributing the regular column for Canadian Lawyer Magazine on Diversity and Inclusion strategies. He has most recently been recognized for his work by the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and the Ontario Bar Association - Canadian Corporate Counsel Association.
