Michael Davies, Q.C.

Michael joined Canadian General Electric Company in 1977 as Associate General Counsel and became General Counsel of GE Canada and GE Capital Canada in 1987 from which position he recently retired. Michael is a long-standing individual member of Transparency International (TI) and, for many years, was Vice Chair and a director of the Canadian chapter of TI and Chairman of the Transparency Committee of the Pacific Basin Economic Council. In addition, from 1997-2003 he was Chairman of the Committee on Corruption and Bribery of the Canadian Council for International Business and, in that capacity was, and continues to be, an active member of the ICC Commission on Anti-corruption. Michael is a co-author of the ICC Corporate Practices manual entitled "Fighting Corruption" and has spoken extensively at national and international conferences on the subject of corporate codes of conduct and whistleblowing. He was recently invited to become a member of the Ethic Intelligence Certification Committee headquartered in Paris.
